Back in January 2025, Pilot Chemical Company announced its capacity expansion plan to more than double the volume of alpha olefin sulfonate (AOS) that it supplies to the household, industrial and institutional (I&I) and personal care markets. Since then, Pilot has made significant commitments in technology development (biobased internal olefin sulfonate with Kao Corporation and biobased alpha olefin sulfonate with Novvi LLC) and commercial development (sales & marketing resources) to grow this core technology. The company recently highlighted the story ofHappi_Pilot_FullPage_0426 Final in a LinkedIn post that received a lot of impressions and a notable plug by Neil Burns, an industry expert, in his monthly blog. The story of this “oldie but goodie” (featured in this brochure) is more relevant than ever as Calsoft® AOS is the “best bang for buck” amongst anionic surfactants in home care cleaning products while complying with 1,4-Dioxane regulations and a desire for sulfate-alternatives.
