The Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA 5) introduced new bilingual labeling requirements for certain pesticide products. Under these requirements, specific safety and hazard information must be made available in both English and Spanish, either directly on the label or through approved alternative methods such as QR codes.

The next major implementation date for the new bilingual labeling requirements created under PRIA 5 is coming up at the end of 2026. By December 29, all antimicrobial pesticides with the DANGER signal word must add the required Spanish translations to their labels or risk enforcement.

At Mason Chemical, we believe in making compliance as easy as possible for our sub-registrants. Our Biocides Regulatory Team has pre-generated QR codes leading to brand-neutral translation documents hosted at Mason’s expense. On request, our Regulatory Specialists can even add these QR codes to customer labels, with minimal disruption to the existing layout. This industry-leading approach minimizes the regulatory burden on our customers.

At the same time, we offer sub-registrants the flexibility to adapt our translations for use with their own QR codes, provide their own translations, or include the required translations directly on their labels.

If you are a sub-registrant with a DANGER signal word product, you should already have received communications from our Biocides Regulatory Team to bring your labels into compliance. If you have not, or still need to update your labels, please reach out to SubReg@pilotchemical.com.
